FAQ

Questions we hear often

Can't find yours? Ask us. We answer plainly.

01Do you take my insurance?

We bill many PPO dental plans and file the claim for you. Whether we are in network depends on your plan, so our front desk tells you before you book. How fees work lists what we do for each kind of plan.

02What if I don't have insurance?

You pay the fee for your visit, and we give you a written estimate in advance. It lists the treatment, the visits it takes and what it will cost. See How fees work.

03Do you accept Medicaid or CHIP?

Ask us. It depends on the plan, and our front desk will tell you plainly, before you travel in rather than after.

04Will it hurt?

We numb the area before we start, and we ask how you want to handle it. Tell us if something doesn't feel right and we stop. You can ask for a break at any point.

05How often do I need X-rays and a cleaning?

Your dentist decides, based on your mouth and your history, and tells you why. It is not the same schedule for everyone.

06What is a deep cleaning?

It is a cleaning below the gum line, for when gums show signs of disease. Your dentist or hygienist explains what they see and what the visit involves before it is booked.

07Do you see children?

Our practice is for adults. If you are looking for a children's dentist, we can suggest where to start.

08What counts as a dental emergency?

Call 911 for trouble breathing or swallowing, or swelling that spreads to your eye or neck. For a knocked-out tooth, severe pain or a broken tooth, call us right away and we will tell you what to do first.

09Do you offer sedation?

No. We use local numbing. If you need more than that, we refer you to a practice that offers it and can tell you who gives it and what permit they hold.

10Can I get a written estimate before treatment?

Yes. Ask at scheduling or at your visit. It lists what we plan to do, the visits it takes and what it will cost, before any work starts.

11Can I see the same dentist every time?

Usually, yes. Tell us who you prefer when you book, and we will keep your visits with them whenever we can.

12How do I cancel or change a visit?

Call or text us as early as you can. Notice lets us offer the time to someone else. Ask our front desk about our policy for late changes.
